On 12th March, some group member companies, together with Cyfle challenged the skills of some level 1 brickwork and carpentry students from NPTC Group.
ASW Property Services Ltd., Jistcourt, John Weaver (Contractors) Ltd. and Morganstone were invited to judge the competition, casting their expert eye over the work of the competitors.
The day finished with a presentation to the winners and employability talks from the construction companies who shared their experience with the students to help prepare them for the world of work. Rhys Fisher, (Cyfle/SBCSG) explains “This is a brilliant opportunity for the students at the College to showcase their skills to local employers. The College has state of the art teaching facilities and expert staff who are dedicated to developing the skills of the students along with working with local firms to identify and fill any skills gaps. With the students potentially looking for apprenticeships this summer they will be fully prepared for what these companies are looking for in an employee.”
